*Ethicist: Outside the legal professions and spiritual traditions, ethicists are usually considered to be either philosophers or practical solvers of problems. Indeed, modern business ethicists take the view that ethics is about resolution of real problems for real people; hence theories that are not deemed useful in resolving actual problems are frowned upon. An ethicist is one whose judgment on ethics has come to be trusted by scholars or by the community of those being advised, and (importantly) expresses his/her advice in a way that makes it possible for others to follow that advice.
